A 75-year-old Briton on Friday
confessed in an Abruzzo court to killing his 66-year-old British
partner in their country home near Chieti in October 2023 due to
her "obsessive jealousy", Rai state broadcaster reported.
"I wish I hadn't done it and I apologize", Michael Whitbread
told the Lanciano court at his trial for the alleged murder of
Michele Faiers on October 29, 2023 in the farmhouse in contrada
Verratti in Casoli (Chieti).
According to the version of events provided by Whitbread, who is
accused of voluntary homicide aggravated by the cohabitation
relationship, Faiers "was obsessively jealous" and beat him,
reported Rai's Tgr Abruzzo regional news bulletin.
