Bologna prosecutors have put nine
people under investigation, including former executives of
Italian supermarket group Conad, in a major corruption probe,
sources said on Thursday.
The case regards alleged bribery and self-laundering in relation
to Conad's acquisition of the stores that had belonged to French
group Auchan before it withdrew from Italy in 2019.
Former Conad CEO Francesco Pugliese and former finance director
Mauro Bosio are among the suspects.
Finance police have seized more than 36 million in assets in
relation to the probe.
Conad is considered an injured party in the proceedings.
