The Holy See's voice is important for
peace in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said after talks
with Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin Friday.
"The prisoner exchange and an unconditional 30-day interim
ceasefire are the first rapid steps that could bring us
significantly closer to a just and lasting peace," Zelensky said
on X.
"Ukraine is ready to take these steps because the Ukrainian
people want peace more than anyone else.
"In the meantime, the world sees how Russia is deliberately
setting conditions that only complicate and prolong the process,
since Russia is the only party that wants the war to continue
and diplomacy to collapse.
"The voice of the Holy See is very important on the road to
peace".
