Italy's Ambassador to Sofia Giuseppina Zarra took part in the fourth edition of the International Forum 'Bratsigovo - The Stone Stream of Time', the Italy-Bulgaria International Conference 'Archaeology and Architecture - Achievements and Perspectives', organised by the Italian Embassy in Sofia with the Italian Cultural Institute, the ICE Agency and Confindustria Bulgaria in cooperation with the Municipality of Bratsigovo and the local Chambers of Architects and Builders.
This was announced by the Farnesina on its website, recalling that this year's edition - sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria - took place from 12 to 14 September with a series of conferences, workshops and an official round table, accompanied by art exhibitions and an Italian choral performance. The theme of this year's edition was 'the exchange of technical knowledge and experience between Italy and Bulgaria in the fields of archaeology and architecture', with several Italian speakers and experts (Andrea Griletto - Director of Assorestauro in Italy; Stefano Borghini - Archaeological Park of the Colosseum; Vincenzo Calvanese - Archaeological Park of Pompeii), as well as Bulgarian representatives of the sector, signing a memorandum of partnership in the field of conservation of immovable cultural heritage, traditions, architecture, archaeology and the arts.
In her speech, Ambassador Zarra emphasised the importance of the exchange of experience and good practice between Bulgaria and Italy in the field of conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage. The deepening of cooperation in this field, she added, contributes not only to the strengthening of bilateral ties in the cultural sphere, but also to the promotion of economic development and awareness of the need to protect the cultural heritage through the use of the most modern techniques and the most innovative products.
