"Bangalore and the state of Karnataka are a major international hub for innovation, digital technologies and start-ups. We must make it a platform for our most innovative companies as well. Ambassador Antonio Bartoli, recently on a mission to India's 'Silicon Valley', is convinced of this. The diplomat, after assisting the Undersecretary of Defence Matteo Perego di Cremnago on a visit to the Aeroindia Show, met the Chief Minister of State and the Ministers of Science and Technology, and the one in charge of Vocational Training, as well as companies, universities and research centres, including the prestigious Indian Institute of Science. "Karnataka is a young, dynamic and future-oriented ecosystem. Where entrepreneurship, finance and research act in synergy. I see an important potential for collaboration with our most advanced realities. We will assign a scientific attaché to the Consulate General in Bangalore with the task of paying special attention to hi-tech and space. India is the third largest country in the world in terms of number of unicorns, start-ups worth over a billion dollars," added the Ambassador at the end of the Business Roundtable organised by the Consulate General of Italy in Bangalore and facilitated by the Iicci (Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
