Defence Undersecretary Sen. Isabella Rauti was on a mission to Vancouver from 14 to 17 February to watch the final competitions and attend the closing ceremony of the 7th Invictus Games. The undersecretary led a delegation of athletes from the Defence Paralympic Sports Group (Gspd) and the Veterans Centre (Cvd), comprising 17 athletes. During the event, Rauti had side meetings with the deputy CEO of the Invictus Games Foundation, Richard Smith, and with Canadian parliamentarians, businessmen, and association representatives involved in the organisation of the Invictus Games.
The Senator also had a warm and well-attended meeting, sponsored by the Italian Consulate General in Vancouver, with a large and qualified representation of the Italian-Canadian community and its representative bodies at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver.
Senator Rauti, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, Rear Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, was assisted by the Italian Ambassador to Canada, Alessandro Cattaneo, the Consul General in Vancouver, Paolo Miraglia Del Giudice, and the Defence and Defence Co-operation Attaché, Air Vice Marshal Davide Marzinotto.
