The Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Embassy in Tunis took part in the international festival "Journées des Arts de la Marionnette de Carthage" with the show "Piccolo Circo di Filo" by the artist and choreographer Antonella D'Ascenzi, at the Théâtre des Régions in Tunis. "Piccolo Circo di Filo" is a work of dance and visual theatre with puppets and video-mapping dedicated to a very young audience. The show combines the universe of dance with that of puppetry, stimulating the spectator's imagination through a visual and sensorial experience with a high scenic and emotional impact. The visual tale brings to the stage the story of a puppet who dreams of being a tightrope walker in order to reach the moon. It is a world in which everyday objects come to life to become "real characters", animated by the imagination of the beholder. The International Festival JAMC - Journées des Arts de la Marionnette de Carthage represents one of the most important and popular events on the Tunisian cultural scene and a stage of great prestige and visibility for the Italian creative industries in the sector. The initiative is in fact well known in the Maghreb and welcomes companies from Arab and Mediterranean countries, with an average annual attendance of around 10,000 spectators.
