'Carissimo Pinocchio' is the exhibition promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto together with the Italian Cultural Institute that displays the works of Italian designers and graphic designers who have redesigned the world's most famous puppet. The exhibition, set up on the occasion of Italian Design Day 2025, will open on 28 March and close on 23 April and is hosted at the Italian Cultural Institute.
Curated by Giulio Iacchetti, with installation design by Matteo Vercelloni and graphic design by Federica Marziale Iadevaia, the exhibition celebrates the 140th anniversary of the first edition of Le avventure di Pinocchio - Storia di un burattino by Carlo Collodi, with a careful selection of projects dedicated to the iconic puppet, which has inspired generations of artists and designers. The works offer different expressions of the creativity and craftsmanship of Italian designers, presenting a kaleidoscopic vision that showcases the ability of Italian design to produce timeless images and products. As Giulio Iacchetti says, this collection celebrates the myth of Geppetto, "the first Italian designer!"
