Medium-term challenges and
uncertainty are weighing on forecasts for the Italian economy,
the International Monetary Fund said after trimming its 2025
growth forecast from 0.8% to 0.7% Friday.
The slight downward revision of Italy's growth estimate reflects
the "medium-term challenges" that the economy is facing, but
also the uncertainty that weighs on a global level and is linked
to the economic policies of the new governments, said the IMF.
After +0.6% in 2024, growth is estimated at 0.9% for 2026.
In October the Fund put Italian growth at 0.8% this year.
