A man threatening to throw himself
off a bridge in Spoleto Wednesday told passers-by he had killed
his wife in the centre of the picturesque Umbrian town in
Italy's latest femicide.
"I have killed my wife," the man reportedly said.
The woman's body was found in their home and an autopsy is due
to be performed to establish cause of death.
The man is in the local prosecutors' office where police said he
had not been charged with anything yet.
Italy is enduring a long spate of femicides which ha spurred
government action.
