The Italian Ambassador to Sofia, Giuseppina Zarra, was received for a farewell meeting by the Chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament's Committee on European Affairs and Supervision of European Funds, Dimitar Gardev.
During the talks, Ambassador Zarra and President Gardev exchanged views on the programme of the Parliamentary Committee, the challenges facing the European Union and the prospects for further development of interparliamentary cooperation, also in the light of the proposal under consideration by the Member States.
Ambassador Zarra and President Gardev agreed on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the desirability of frequent meetings between Italian and Bulgarian parliamentarians on EU issues.
