There are four Italians among the
world's best women scientists according to the latest annual
ranking by Research.com on the basis of the number of
publications and citations.
Oncological epidemiology expert Silvia Franceschi is 20th;
national nuclear physics institute research chief Speranza
Falciano is 62nd; epidemiologist and Bologna University lecturer
Eva Negri 70th; and Pavia University cardiology lecturer Silvia
Priori 85th.
Resarch.com's table of the top 1,000 female scientists included
another 22 Italians in fields ranging from medicine to
astrophysics.
