An Italian tourist died in a minibus
crash in Cuba Thursday, the Italian foreign ministry said
Friday.
The accident involved a group of seven Italian tourists in
Cienfuegos, it said.
The other passengers were injured, said the Farnesina.
Since the first report, it said, the Italian embassy in Havana
has been providing assistance to their compatriots, in
coordination with the Farnesina.
The embassy is maintaining constant contact with the medical
staff and the tour operator.
Cuban media said the state-owned Transtur minibus crashed on a
national highway at Aguada de Pasajeros, a Cienfuegos.
It reportedly crashed into a bridge base. and veered off the
highway.
