Italy has the highest proportion of
doctors over 65 in the European Union, Eurostat said on 2022
figures Friday.
With 26.7% of its doctors aged 65 or over, Italy is followed by
Hungary (22.4%) and Estonia (22.3%).
Germany has the highest share of doctors aged between 55 and 64,
equal to 36.1%, followed by Bulgaria (33.9%) and Latvia (27.4%).
On the contrary, Malta has the highest percentage of young
doctors, equal to 46.1%, followed by Romania (34.6%) and the
Netherlands (29.7%).
