Roberto Colaminè took office today as Italian Ambassador to Jakarta. This was announced by the Farnesina.
    Born in Naples on 10 April 1963, he graduated in Law at the University of Naples in 1989. Following a competitive examination, he was appointed as a Volunteer in the diplomatic career on 4 March 1991. After an initial assignment at the Ministry's General Directorate for Emigration and Social Affairs, he took up the post of Consul in Adelaide (Australia) in 1995. In 1999 he was appointed First Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, where he became Counsellor for Emigration and Social Affairs in 2002.
    In 2003, he returned to Rome to take up service as Chief Secretary at the General Inspectorate of the Ministry and Offices Abroad. In 2006, he took up a post as First Counsellor at the Italian Embassy in Tunis.
    In 2009 he was appointed Ambassador in Abuja (Nigeria), with accreditation also in Porto Novo (Benin) and at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
    In 2014, he returned to the Farnesina to serve at the Directorate General for Development Cooperation. Since 2019 he has been Deputy Director General for Development Cooperation and Central Director for bilateral development cooperation policies and emergency interventions.
    In 2009, he was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
