The Ambassador of Italy in Kiev, Carlo Formosa, met the new CEO of the Ukrainian Railways, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Italy and Ukraine in the railway sector, a crucial area for the reconstruction and development of the country's infrastructure.
During the meeting, Formosa emphasised the leading role of Italian companies in the railway sector, internationally recognised for their technological excellence and accumulated experience in complex infrastructure projects. "Italy is ready to share its know-how and promote collaborations that can support the revitalisation of Ukrainian infrastructure, contributing to the strengthening of railway connections, the modernisation of existing networks and the introduction of innovative systems," the ambassador said.
The strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the railway sector is part of the broader framework of Italy's commitment to the reconstruction and development of Ukraine, in line with the objectives of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025, scheduled to be held in Rome in July.
