The Ambassador of Italy in Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, paid a visit to the Mayor of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević, together with the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC). The conversation revealed the common will to strengthen cooperation between the city of Zagreb, the Embassy, and the IIC, with a particular focus on greater involvement of the Croatian capital's institutions in the numerous integrated and cultural promotion activities planned for the coming months, also with the aim of making such initiatives accessible to all. The Mayor also expressed interest in initiating contacts with a number of Italian cities, on the basis of the excellent relations underway with the Municipality of Florence.
Ambassador Trichilo took the opportunity to thank the Mayor for the attention paid to the Community of Italians in Zagreb which, besides being represented in the City Council by its own deputy, participates, with a dedicated space, in the exhibition hosted every year by the Croatian capital on the occasion of the Day of National Minorities.
Finally, the Ambassador presented the Mayor with a copy of the volume 'Italians in Zagreb' by the Croatian historian Filip Škiljan and anticipated that he intends to organise an exhibition on the history of the Italian community in the Croatian capital next year.
